01/20 a question about songs

Hey. So, my friend Mark, and incredibly talented artist who’s been working on a few surprise pieces featuring Yours Truly heh heh sent me this email today.

I hope he doesn’t mind, but I thought it was kind of an interesting question, and wanted to know your guys’ thoughts on it. I posted my experience with the whole thing, now maybe you’ll post yours…

I have a lot - and I mean O LOT of paintings that are an attempt to deal with relationships that are over but in important ways are still a complicated part of me. However, I’ve always wondered with musicians how their changing attitudes towards this particular type of experience affects their attitude toward the songs that seem so personal and tied to a particular experience?

I don’t need to, or have the ability to directly interact with paintings after I’ve finished them. My work as an artist is finished once I put my brush down. I get to work through emotional stuff, leave it on the canvas and move on. Is it different when you know it’s a song that you’ll still be performing long after the emotions behind it have changed and evolved along with you?

Just curious…

Haven’t posted in awhile because i’ve been recording and writing like crazy, its coming out good.

I’m also getting busy with web design and photography stuff.

Now imagine your eyes getting suctioned, it doesnt hurt like you would think, and then a layer of your eye being taken off and then a laser going in your eye, it wasnt all that bad and so worth it to be able to see the relief is beyond words.

What was once written has now been erased

the meaning is lost
the memory forgotten
no way to turn back now

Fallin’ , Dissolve, Things I’ll Never Say, Never Wanted More all new songs
still looking for new members possibly through plastic windows

Been writing like crazy trying new things, and well its been fun.

Let’s see where this goes

Always pushing it back, the fact is I keep writing and writing and never finishing, well its a good time to slow down and get this show on the road, that of course is if time permits.

If you know anyone interested in a side project or anything that would like to play, let me know.

So far I’ll be re-doing the song on myspace “Hold On”, Also the other songs on that side will be “Cope”, “Take Everything”, if I can get the way I want to. Some other I may do, “Fallin’ “, ” Safe in here”, “Pumpley” (acoustic), its a toss at which ones feel right and which come out of the box of songs I have.

After seeing shows so far this summer and talking to people in and around the music world, I really want to get out and play, solo yes why not, I prefer a band theres just a different element to it all.

Keep your eyes and ears open for some new stuff soon.

DEAD AIR SPACE

As I sit here debating which way to record, I wonder also which name to present these songs under, nothing is making sense at the moment, we will have to see.

So I’m at the point where I have too many songs to record
